403MHz antenna for weather balloon (radiosonde) hunting
Now you can also hunt down weather balloons radiosondes!
Weather ballon radiosondes, once released transmit data from above on frequency of 403MHz. Once they fall, transmitters are still working for some time. Thats the time when you can track them down and collect them.
Those transmitters are cheap and reliable, so weather forecast services do not retrieve them, so not only that you can collect interesting gadgets, you will also clean up the nature 🙂
This is 3d model of a Moxon 403MHz antenna. You will also need copper tape (i used copper only on sections which i need to solder, on reflector part i used aluminium tape)
This is directional antenna, so it will be easier to track down those radiosondes. You can use either SDR or some handheld radio to track down their signal
