The DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro quickly reached the top of the most popular and affordable drones. The DJI Mini 3 Pro became one of the few mini drones with obstacle avoidance, a wider range of intelligent flight modes, including ActiveTrack, portrait mode, and an extended flight time.

The DJI Mini 3 is a stripped-down version, lacking Obstacle Avoidance and ActiveTrack, but it still features the portrait mode, has a larger sensor than the DJI Mini 2, and even has a longer flight time than both the Mini 2 and the DJI Mini 3 Pro. Having seen all these features, some pilots also wanted a way they could view the footage of Mini 3 Pro in FPV.

So, which DJI Goggles are compatible with DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro?

The DJI Mini 3 Pro is now compatible with the DJI Goggles 2, the Goggles Integra, and the Motion Controller 2. However, the DJI Mini 3 does not work with any of DJI’s goggles.

Please keep reading to learn more about the DJI Mini 3 Pro’s compatibility with DJI’s goggles.

DJI Goggles compatibility with the DJI Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro #

Over the years, DJI has released several headsets compatible with their drones. However, the compatibility of these goggles was limited to FPV drones and FPV systems such as the O3 Air Unit. However, some people don’t have access to FPV drones; others find them too complicated to fly and are afraid of crashing.

As such, it was necessary to make goggles compatible with GPS drones so that even people with such drones could enjoy FPV. And those with FPV drones like the DJI Avata can also get the DJI Mini 3 Pro at a lower price for some shots since they already have the goggles and a controller. However, while DJI has a wide range of goggles, not all models are compatible with the DJI Mini 3 Pro. So, what goggles will work with the DJI Mini 3 Pro?

DJI Goggles  #

The DJI Goggles are the original and first headset edition released by DJI in May 2017. The DJI Goggles (first version) is incompatible with the Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro.

DJI Goggles RE #

The DJI Goggles Racing Edition was introduced for compatibility with the DJI OcuSync Air System used in custom FPV drones and for Spark, Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Series, and Inspire 2 drones.

Unfortunately, the DJI Goggles RE is incompatible with the Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro.

DJI Goggles v1 #

The DJI Goggles V1 is mainly known as DJI FPV Goggles’ first version. This headset is not related to the DJI FPV Drone but to the DJI FPV Air Unit that can be used in custom drones.

The DJI FPV Goggles V2 that came with the DJI FPV Drone looks identical but differs in performance and compatibility.

However, long story short, the DJI Goggles V1 is incompatible with the Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro drones.

DJI FPV Goggles V2 #

The DJI FPV Goggles V2 is the headset that came with the DJI FPV Drone and can also be bought separately for other drones.

The Goggles were released in 2021 and are widely used in many FPV systems because of the wide variety of air units it supports, including the new DJI O3 compatibility.

However, the DJI Goggles V2 are still incompatible with the DJI Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro. This is quite a bummer considering the Goggles V2 are the most recent goggles, and most people still use them. Anyone who got the DJI FPV drone with the Goggles V2 version must get the newer goggles and controller to fly the DJI Mini 3 Pro.

DJI Goggles 2 #

These are some of the latest goggles released by DJI. They came with the newer FPV drone, the DJI Avata, alongside the Motion Controller. At the time of their release, they were not compatible with GPS drones, but with a firmware update, DJI made the DJI Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 drones compatible with the DJI Goggles 2 and the new Motion Controller 2. As I mentioned, the Goggles V2 and Motion controller that came with the first DJI FPV drone will not work; you must get a combination of the newer versions. Unfortunately, if you have the DJI Mini 3 (base), these goggles will still not work with your drone.

.DJI Goggles Integra #

These are the latest goggles from DJI and are also compatible with the DJI Mini 3 Pro. They are cheaper than the Goggles 2 and have a few adjustments you may consider when choosing between them. These include;

  • The touchpad in the Goggles 2 is replaced with working buttons.
  • There are now diopter adjustments, just corrective lenses.
  • An extra place to place the batteries in the headband, making them more comfortable to wear.
  • They are compatible with more devices compared to the Goggles 2.
  • They lack streaming capability and also lack WiFi and Bluetooth.
  • Built-in GPS, so you don’t need a smartphone.
  • They lack speakers, so you can’t hear the notifications. Speakers are available in the Goggles 2.

Can I use my V2 Goggles with the DJI Mini 3 Pro? #

The Goggles V2 are not compatible with the DJI Mini 3 Pro. You can only use the Goggles 2 or the Goggles Integra.
