Stallion – High performance 3D printed twin-motor fixed-wing
Meet Stallion: 3D-printed fixed wing UAV. The aircraft is configured with 2 tractor motors, a single tail boom, and a V-Tail, emphasizing optimal performance and compact design. Its geometry undergoes careful design and optimization using CFD and real test flights. With modularity as a key focus, the airframe features a fully detachable nose, allowing adaptation to various payloads. The default setup is equipped for a standard 19x19mm FPV camera. All printing files are available in STL format, with select files in STEP, facilitating easy customization of components like mounts, antenna outputs, and sensors. Equipped with the recommended motors and battery, the Stallion achieves excellent performance coupled with low power consumption. Stable flight is attainable at just under 40% throttle. For extended flight times, a large 21Ah 4S6P Li-Ion battery is recommended. In a lightweight configuration, the aircraft can even operate with 3S batteries. The choice of motors and battery voltage is left to the user and plays a crucial role in tailoring the aircraft’s performance for specific purposes. The Stallion stands as a versatile and adaptable aerial platform, offering a balance of performance and customization for a range of applications. All parts can be printed on a 220x220mm print bed. However, for users with more capacious printers, larger fuselage segments are available, reducing the number of printed components.
