Mini 2 Error Codes by Code Number
As you’ll see in the following listing, quite a few error codes direct the drone owner to contact DJI support. This is the only known method to get the Mini 2 fixed for some issues.
Need DJI Support? This article describes various ways how to contact DJI Customer Support »
Mini 2 Error Code 10001 #
Camera malfunction. Repairs required. Contact DJI Support for assistance.
The only step that can be taken immediately for this error is to shut down your drone and remote control, then start them up again and see if the error is gone. If not, contact DJI Support. You’ll need to either replace or repair the camera.
Mini 2 Error Code 10016 #
Camera not calibrated. Image quality can be affected. Contact DJI Support for assistance.
For this error, you can try calibrating the camera. The steps to do so are below.
How to calibrate your Mini 2 camera #
- Confirm your drone is on a flat surface.
- Go into the DJI Fly app.
- Locate and press the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner (menu system).
- Tap the Camera icon on the left of the screen. This will take you into the Gimbal Settings.
- Under: Camera Gimbal Advanced Settings, choose Auto Calibrate Gimbal then hit OK.
- The process will start and finish automatically.
If for some reason this does not clear the error, you’ll need to most likely replace or repair the camera after speaking with DJI Support.
Mini 2 Error Code 10022 #
No SD Card. Insert SD Card.
This is a simple error. All one would have to do is insert an SD Card. The required SD Card should be UHS-I Speed Class 3 or higher. SanDisk, Samsung, and other brands have these specific speed-rated cards for sale online.

Mini 2 Error Code 10023 #
SD Card Malfunction. Change card.
The quickest way to clear this error would be to simply eject the SD Card, wait a moment, and insert the card again. If this doesn’t work, swap the card with another.
As delicate and finicky SD Cards are, it might not be a bad idea to have multiple cards on hand.
Mini 2 Error Code 30007 and Code 30008 #
No GPS signal. Unable to hover. Fly with caution.
In this case, your best course of action is to fly back to your location, land the drone and get it fixed as soon as possible.
The required fix for this would be to have the GPS module repaired or likely replaced. We can see here why always having a visual line of sight (VLOS) of the drone may come in handy, as with a broken GPS module the drone might not show properly on the map.
Mini 2 Error Code 30047 #
Barometer initialization failed. Restart aircraft.
The only thing that can be done here is to restart the Mini 2 and follow the onscreen instructions provided by DJI.
Mini 2 Error Code 30049 #
GPS Module error. Restart aircraft.
Shut down the Mini 2 and remote control, then start them up again. If this does not resolve the problem, then the GSP module will need to be repaired or replaced.
Mini 2 Error Code 30050 #
IMU Calibration required. Calibrate IMU.
You might be prompted to calibrate the IMU after crashing the drone, seeing it flying strangely, and a host of other reasons not indicated in error code 30050.
Note: If you get error code 30050, most times, if not all when you restart your drone, there will be a dialogue box up and waiting for you to accept an automatic calibration, in which case you’ll accept the prompts and proceed with the calibration.
You can manually calibrate the IMU by following these steps:
How to manually calibrate your Mini 2 IMU #
- Go into the DJI Fly app.
- Locate and press the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner.
- Scroll down to Sensors.
- Locate and press IMU.
- The process will automatically start and instruct you where and when to position the Mini 2 to properly calibrate the IMU.
- The process takes approximately one minute and will alert you when it is complete.
Mini 2 Error Code 30055 #
IMU not calibrated. Calibrate IMU.
Follow the same steps as previously for error code 30050
Mini 2 Error Code 30060 #
Compass error. Ensure there are no metal or magnetic objects near the aircraft, and calibrate it before use.
This error normally occurs if you are starting your drone up in your home, in close proximity to a manhole cover, park bench, in a parking garage, or nearby other metal objects.
If you receive this message, try moving the Mini 2 to another area close by that has no metal. If the error persists, you may need to repair or replace the gimbal.
Mini 2 Error Code 30064 #
Unable to take off.
Firstly, make sure that there are no obstructions around the Mini 2 and that you are not in a geofenced area (ie within Airport airspace). If everything appears to be fine, the simplest thing to do is turn off the Mini 2 and RC and restart them.
If the error persists, check for a firmware update (how-to below) and if that is not the issue, you’ll most likely need to get the drone repaired. Oftentimes with this issue, the ESC module needs to be repaired or replaced.
How to check for new firmware #
- Go into the DJI Fly app.
- Locate, and press the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner.
- Navigate to the ABOUT tab.
- On the left, you’ll see Aircraft Firmware.
- To the right of this will be the option to Check for Update.
- Press this and follow the prompts.
Mini 2 Error Code 30085 #
ESC Connection error. Repairs required. Contact DJI Support for assistance.
This error originates from the issues with the ESC board itself. The fix is to either repair or replace the ESC board or contact DJI Support to get it fixed.
Mini 2 Error Code 30105 #
Navigation system error. Restart aircraft.
Simply restarting the Mini 2, in this case, may not work. DJI Support suggests that you move the drone away from any metal objects, then calibrate the IMU. If the issue persists, you will need to contact DJI Support.
Note: If you get this error message on a new Mini 2, right out of the box, this can be considered a warranty issue and you’ll need to get in contact with DJI Support so as to have a ticket created and exchange provided.
How to manually calibrate the IMU #
- Go into the DJI Fly app.
- Locate and press the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner.
- Scroll down to Sensors.
- Locate and press IMU.
- The process will automatically start and instruct you where and when to position the Mini 2 to properly calibrate the IMU.
- The process takes approximately one minute and will alert you when it is complete.
Mini 2 Error Code 30168 #
Aircraft power insufficient. Fly with caution.
If there are higher than usual winds in your area of flying, this will many times appear.
If it is a calm day with no wind gusts, this error could be pointing to something a little more problematic. This message instead may be due to a battery near its end of life or even a bad ESC module.
Mini 2 Error Code 30210 #
Power system hardware. Restart aircraft.
For this error, try restarting your drone and RC. If this does not work, then the next suggested step is to check and install updated firmware (for the drone, battery, and RC). It is advisable to do this where you have an internet connection.
Mini 2 Error Code 30224 #
Incompatible firmware version.
A few steps need to be taken here to alleviate this error message locally.
- Ensure the Mini 2 has the latest firmware
- Make sure any and all spare batteries are up on the current firmware as well
- Clear the firmware cache in the DJI app by doing the following:
- Go to PROFILE > press Settings > then Clear Cache.
- After doing this, restart the drone and the DJI Fly App.
- If this has been done and you are still getting the error: Reinstall the DJI Fly app.
If these steps do not work, then you will need to send your drone into DJI for servicing. An online request will need to be filled out and can be done at https://www.dji.com/us/service/repair.
Mini 2 Error Code 30226 #
Start failed. Restart aircraft and DJI Fly app.
This is another one of those errors where a complete restart of the drone, RC, and DJI Fly app are required, after which the Fly app will walk you through the steps needed to rectify the situation.
Mini 2 Error Code 40002 #
Gimbal stuck. Check whether gimbal cover is removed and ensure can rotate freely.
This one commonly occurs if the gimbal cover is left on during drone startup. When this happens, the gimbal tries to self-calibrate, moving up and down and side to side, but has restricted movement due to the cover being on.
If this happens repeatedly, there is the very real danger of the gimbal motor burning out, rendering your camera useless. The fix is to build the habit of taking the gimbal cover off prior to flight.
Mini 2 Error Code 40011 #
Gimbal calibration error. Restart aircraft.
Although your first inclination might be to restart the aircraft, the proper way of fixing this error is to perform a gimbal calibration, which was explained earlier.
If the gimbal calibration does not work and you still receive the error, try restarting the drone. If THAT doesn’t work either, you will need to have the gimbal replaced.
How to calibrate the camera #
- Confirm your drone is on a flat surface.
- Go into the DJI Fly app.
- Locate and press the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner (menu system).
- Tap the Camera icon on the left of the screen. This will take you into the Gimbal Settings.
- Under: Camera Gimbal Advanced Settings, choose Auto Calibrate Gimbal then hit OK.
- The process will start and finish automatically.
Mini 2 Error Code 40012 #
Gimbal unable to connect. Repairs required. Contact DJI Support for assistance.
In this case, you will need to have the gimbal replaced, and may choose to contact DJI Support. There are videos on YouTube that walk through replacing the gimbal, or you can bring your drone to a local drone repair shop.
Mini 2 Error Code 40021 #
Gimbal IMU data error. Contact DJI Support for assistance.
The GPS module will need to be repaired or replaced. As above, you can either contact DJI Support, replace it yourself using YouTube or contact a local drone repair shop.
Mini 2 Error Code 180016, Code 180030, and Code 180031 #
Sensor error. Contact DJI Support for assistance.
The first step, which might clear the errors, would be to restart the drone and RC. If this does not work, then the sensors are broken and will need to be replaced.
Hopefully, you will not run into any of these errors. However, if you do, as can be seen from this list, there is indeed a way to clear and fix many of the errors that the DJI Mini 2 may throw at you.
