Snaptain drones have gained popularity in the consumer market due to their robust features such as flight stabilization, wide-angle recording, voice control, 1080p HD camera, and compatibility with modern-day smartphones. If you’ve just gotten a Snaptain drone, you may be wondering exactly how to connect the drone to your smartphone.

You can connect your drone to a phone using the Snaptain app found in the Google Play Store or App Store. All you need to do is, turn on the drone, connect to it using the drone’s wifi found in your phone’s settings, open the corresponding Snaptain app to complete the setup, and begin flying!

Snaptain offers various drones for kids, beginners, and even experienced pilots looking for ways to enjoy the drone experience on a budget. Through this article, I’ll be discussing in detail the steps to connect your Snaptain drone to a smartphone and controllers. Stick around and you’ll soon be flying like a pro!

How To Connect Snaptain Drone To iPhone  #

You can connect a Snaptain drone to an iPhone using the corresponding Snaptain app from the App store. (more details on this in a sec…)

Why do you need to connect the drone to your phone, you ask? The Snaptain drones use a smartphone app to allow the operator to control the drone. You need to use the app to be able to fly the drone.

The process is relatively straightforward and simple, even to complete rookies who’ve never operated a drone before.

Step1: Power ON The Drone #

Locate the power button under the hood of your drone and press it for three seconds to switch on the drone. You should be able to see the four indicators on the battery light up.

Now place the drone on a flat surface and make sure you can see red lights flash slowly on the drone’s arms.

Step 2: Download Your Drone’s Corresponding Snaptain App #

There are three different apps for the different categories of Snaptain’s drones.

Check and see whether your drone falls in the advanced category or the beginners’ category and proceed with the respective app as indicated below:

**   Advanced Drones**

**    Beginner Drones**

Make sure to download the exact app that corresponds with your specific model of drone from the App Store to avoid any issues with establishing a connection.

The apps only work on iOS 8.0 or later devices and come bundled with unique features such as remote controlling the drone, displaying real-time video footage from the drone, and controlling the phone itself.

Step 3: Launch The App #

It’s time to launch the app you downloaded from the App Store to complete any configuration settings.

Turn on location services and cellular data on your device, select your drone’s model from the drop-down menu, and then hit “start.”

Locate the live map and tap on it to have your current location displayed on the map.

Step 4: Connect To The Snaptain Drone’s Wifi #

Now turn the phone’s cellular data off while switching on the wifi and connect to the “Snaptain-xxx-xxx” wifi (LEDs at the back of the battery will turn solid upon a successful connection).

If you cannot see the drone’s wifi, restart the device and repeat the process while connecting the wifi to a single smartphone.

On a successful connection to the network, indicators at the back of the battery should be solid in color, indicating that the drone is ready for take-off!

How To Connect Snaptain Drone To Android Phone #

Like the iPhone, Snaptain drones can be connected to any Android phone using the corresponding Snaptain app found on the Google Play store.

The process is similarly straightforward and easy to follow, provided you follow these steps precisely.

Step 1: Power ON The Drone #

Locate the power button under the hood of your drone and press it for three seconds to switch on the drone. You should be able to see the four indicators on the battery light up.

Now place the drone on a flat surface and make sure you can see red lights flash slowly on the drone’s arms.

Step 2: Download Your Drone’s Corresponding Snaptain App #

There are three different apps for the different categories of Snaptain’s drones.

Check and see whether your drone falls in the advanced category or the beginners’ category and proceed with the respective app as indicated below:

**   Advanced Drones**

**   Beginner Drones**

Download the exact app that corresponds with your specific model of drone from the Google Play Store to avoid any issues with establishing a connection.

The app works on any Android phone with Android 4.4 or higher and comes bundled with robust features, similar to those found in the iPhone’s app.

Step 3: Launch The App #

It’s time to launch the app you downloaded from the Google Play Store to complete any configuration settings.

How To Pair Snaptain Drone To The Controller #

Drones are Radio Controlled (RC) using radio signals sent from the controller to the drone itself, a technology that’s been around since the 19th century. Our great ancestors flew hydrogen-filled aircraft as a form of a musical act in a hall.

In today’s world, we refer to this process as Remote Controlling (RC), which means the same thing because we still use the same radio signal concept to control a flying device. So how does it work to pair the controller to your drone?

All Snaptain drones come with their respective controllers, but the procedure remains standard across the board.

Step1: Power ON The Drone #

The very first step is to make sure that the drone is powered on by pressing the button at the back of the drone for three seconds until all the four indicators on the battery light up, then place the drone on a flat surface.

Step 2: Power ON The Controller #

Press the On/Off button on the controller and wait for a beeping sound.

Step 3: Pair The Controller To The Drone #

Push the left stick of the controller to the top and then back to the bottom. Once the front LEDs on the drone slowly flash white while the rear LEDs slowly flash blue, that means the pairing has been completed.

Why Your Drone Won’t Connect to the Phone #

For some reason, you just prepped up your drone ready to take off but notice that it won’t connect to the phone!

That’s frustrating to be sure, I’ve almost certainly got the solution to the problem.

Like any other advanced technology equipment, drones and phones will sometimes misbehave and fail to respond to the command at hand. We need to troubleshoot the problem using different approaches until we land on the right solution.

Try this first… #

The most effective approach in most cases is to reset the drone’s wifi by holding down the power button until you hear three beeps. This solution will work for almost any Snaptain drone. However, in some fewer cases, you need to troubleshoot further to understand where the problem is and find the right solution to your connectivity issues.

If that doesn’t work… #

For starters, you could follow the steps below and try connecting to the drone with each action you take until you find one that works for you.

Step 1: Delete the Snaptain app from your phone.

In some cases, application updates could be causing the app to fail to recognize your drone, and the most immediate solution would be to delete the app.

Download a fresh copy of the corresponding app from the App Store for an iPhone or Google Play store for Android and then try connecting to the drone once again.

Step 2: Connect using a different phone.

You could try using a friend or family member’s phone and assess whether the problem lies with your phone.

As I mentioned earlier, sometimes technology simply fails, and the feeling is frustrating. Still, if you keep troubleshooting the problem using different solutions, you’ll land on a solution that fits your situation the best.

Step 3: Connect to the drone using a controller.

If the problem persists, bypass the wifi connection by connecting the phone to the controller using a USB cable.

Step 4: Check whether the wifi camera disconnected

The camera carrying the drone’s wifi could disconnect in some cases during a hard landing.

Try plugging the camera back to its position and then reconnecting to see if you get a successful connection.

Suppose you’ve tried everything I’ve mentioned above and still are not getting a connection. In that case, it’s high time to seek professional help from the Snaptain customer support. Carefully follow the provided instructions from the team’s engineers, and you’re sure to get back on track.

In conclusion, the process of connecting any Snaptain drone to a phone or controller is pretty simple, as discussed through this article, and my only hope is that I’ve solved your connection problems and can do it without any further hindrances.
